Tart Cherry Hot Chocolate

* Use coconut milk from a can. Other milks can be used if preferred. If choosing nut milk, use unsweetened since you’re adding sweetener and the tart cherry concentrate is a bit sweet as well.

Ingredients

 

1 1/2 cups light coconut milk* 375 mL
2 tbsp Montmorency tart cherry concentrate 30 mL
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 15 mL
1 oz chopped dark chocolate 30 g
1 tbsp honey or agave 15 mL
1/2 tsp vanilla extract 3 mL
pinch sea salt

Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small sauce pot over medium heat and bring to a simmer.
  2. Whisk until chocolate is melted and mixture is heated through.
  3. Pour into mugs and garnish with cocoa powder, cacao nibs and/or marshmallows.
